Educational institutions: University College, 1, 1 Polytechnic Institute, Medical College 1, 1 physical education university, normal school training 2, 1 Institute of Nursing, Cadet College 1, 7 management of universities, non government college 39, government school higher 4 , no government high school 312, high school 33, government primary school 1204, non-governmental, 412 primary schools, 698 madrasas, the school pupil 5, K-11, school of Music 2. Famous educational institutions: Sher-e-Bangla Medical College and Hospital, University bm (1889), Oxford Mission High School, Barisal Zila School, Union Banaripara Institution (1889), the Government Pinglakathi Model Elementary School (1882), Bheduriarchar Government Primary School (1892).
